STEWART BARTON EPK
Stewart Barton is a young local talent - singer, songwriter and guitarist - that has already made a huge impression on the wider Australian music community.
Born in Canberra, Stewart grew up surrounded by music and was determined to become a guitarist. Initially self-taught, he developed his skills through programs for emerging Indigenous artists in the region. Through the strong support of his family and his community, he gained enough confidence to start performing at local talent shows.
Stewart’s abilities were already very apparent when he performed at an Open Mic event in Queanbeyan, NSW, run by Michael Bond from Country Rocks. Michael was blown away by the raw talent Stewart displayed, despite finding out he was only 15 years old. Shortly after, Stewart was offered a development opportunity under the Country Rocks Spot Light program. This program has helped Stewart develop his craft and has given him the opportunity to work with, and appear on stage with many Australian Country Music names, such as Drew McAlister, Bill Chambers, Brewn, and the great Tommy Emmanuel.
Stewart is currently working on recording and delivering his debut album, which will contain all original material.
